Orangeburg Wilkinson High School Launches "Campus Kings & Queens" Initiative to Empower Students

Orangeburg Wilkinson High School is proud to announce the official launch of "Campus Kings & Queens," a transformative tier 2 academic and mentoring initiative designed to support and uplift our 9th & 10th grade students who have gotten off track, to get back on track, to graduate on time with their classmates. This program aims to foster an environment where every student feels empowered to achieve academic success, develop strong character, and ultimately "grow into their crown" – a metaphor for realizing their full potential.

Orangeburg Wilkinson High School successfully hosted a parent roll-out event, introducing families to the vision and comprehensive support structure of the Campus Kings & Queens program. Parents received an in-depth overview of the program's commitment to personalized academic interventions, character development, and mentorship.

"We believe in the inherent potential of every single one of our students," stated Dr. Devin L. Robinson, Assistant Principal and creator of the initiative. "Campus Kings & Queens is about providing the tools, guidance, and community necessary for our young men and women to overcome challenges and thrive."

The program is thrilled to announce significant partnerships that will further enhance its offerings. Campus Kings & Queens will be teaming up with the esteemed Call Me MiSTER programs of Claflin University and South Carolina State University to help facilitate engaging "Lunch & Learn" opportunities for students, providing invaluable insights, mentorship, and exposure to positive role models from higher education. Additionally, the Kappa League chapter of Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School will be instrumental in providing peer tutoring in all subjects, offering valuable academic support and fostering a culture of collaborative learning among our students.

Through this multi-faceted approach, Campus Kings & Queens is poised to make a profound impact on the lives of its participants, guiding them towards a brighter academic future and cultivating the next generation of leaders.
